Alicia Keys performed a medley on stage at the 2010 BET Awards. She wore a fuchsia mini dress with a sweet heart neckline, which she with pink platform pumps. Everyone had something to say about the very pregnant Alicia Keys wearing a very short dress, but I thought she looked cute.

I appreciate a pregnant women still trying to be sexy. Being a mom myself, and knowing how tired a pregnant women can get, I would have understood if Alicia showed up a maxi dress and flat sandals – my ideal dressed up pregnancy outfit.

KEKE PALMER AT THE 2010 BET AWARDS

Young actress Keke Palmer attended the 2010 BET Awards. She wore a gunmetal gray homecoming-style mini. The dress was perfect for her as she looked cute and age-appropriate.

When I watched the awards show, I tweeted that it may have been the Alice + Olivia Katrina Rhinestone Bust Dress. While the Alice + Olivia dress is adorable with it’s blinged out top, voluminous skirt and $700 price tag, it wasn’t the actual dress worn by Keke. I wish it was as it’s much more fashion forward than Keke’s choice.

She completed her look with the celeb-favored Alexander McQueen Heart Peep Toe pumps. They retail for $695.00.

A reader contacted me recently inquiring about the dress Beyonce’s wore during the launch of her fragrance Heat, at Macy’s Herald Square. Beyonce wore a Rafael Cennamo dress, which retails for over $2,000.00. The dress includes a satin, tulip skirt, ruched, criss-cross bodice and patent leather shoulders. Beyonce paired the dress with a black belt and red Gianmarco Lorenzo patent skyscrapers. The dress has a lot going on, but it still mounts to a sleek look. It was hard to find a dress with all the details, but I put together some items that included the standout details of the dress.

LaLa Vasquez was recently seen out and about, with her homegirl, Po. She wore a vivrant yelow dress, which is perfect for a sunny spring day of shopping. Her Harry Potter boots was the second worse choice for this outfit, Po’s boots being the first.

But boots aside, from the ankle up, this was a cute look. When I first saw it, I immediately got to work to find Lala’s dress. I was unsuccessful, but only because I got sidetracked with all the cute yellow dress I found instead. Check them out if you want to add a little sunshine to your wardrobe.

Another Spring trend has emerged. The safari look was seen heavily within the Gucci Spring 09 Collection, as well as Louis Vuittons Collection from the same season. Trina, Fergie and Teairra Mari have all jumped on this bandwagon with Fergie wearing Gucci and Trina wearing a safari-inspired jacket and Louis Vuitton accessories. Trina and Fergie had the right idea by pairing their outfits with weighty shoes; Trina wearing Louis Vuittons popoular Spicy sandal and Fergie wearing sandals from her own Fergilious collection. Teairra, on the other hand, went with a classic pair of high heeled sandals, which didn’t really complete the outfit as, I supposed, she expected it too.

MEN’S TREND: CARDIGANS

Cardigans are usually a women’s wardrobe staple, but that’s changed. Men have taken to calling the cardigan a must-buy. And of course, celebrity men have embraced and setup the trend, like no other.

Kanye West attended the Jeremy Scott Ready-to-Wear Fall/Winter 2009 fashion show during Paris Fashion Week at Faculte de Medecine on March 7, 2009. He wore a pink and white Jeremy Scott letterman cardigan. Actor Hill Harper had a portrait session at the Spanish Steps (Piazza di Spagna) on March 11, 2009 in Rome, Italy. He wore a cardigan with attached patches throughout. Pharrell Williams was spotted arriving at Perth Airport on March 1, 2009 in Perth, Australia. He was dressed down and carried a gray cable-knit cardigan.

Each individual opted to pair the cardigan with a plain tee. I say, play with the colors, and mix & match cardigans and tees for a hot look.

Rihanna is back at it. She stepped out to have dinner with friends Beyonce, Jay-Z and Brandy in New York. And of course, she stepped out.

She wore a structured tweed blazer, leggings and cutout booties. The booties and jacket are of course, the focal points of this outfit.

What I like about Rihanna is usually, she goes against the norm in her styling. She usually doesn’t go for the standard pretty dress and default pair of Louboutins. Even if you don’t like her ensemble, you’ll be left asking, “who designed that.”

This time around, I’m asking the same thing in regards to the jacket. It is indeed hot. Who designed that! And I love that she took an office staple and flipped it for a night out. For a similar look, try one of the options below.

We at Lolo’s Cube love the luxurious. So when we stumbled upon this lovely fuschia Pauw Silk Jacket *drools*, which is tailored in Italian double silk *double drool*, we immediately feel in love. So far, we don’t have an invite that is worthy of the jacket, or a dress that’s worthy to wear underneath, so we won’t be purchasing the jacket anytime soon.

Oh, who am I kidding? I would wear this jacket with anything and everything or nothing at all. I don’t need a worthy invite, I have a full length mirror in which to stare at this jacket’s silhouette on my body.

My biggest obstacle keeping me from the precious is my non-indulgent worthy salary. A girl like me can only dream of purchasing a jacket for $2,035.00. But instead, I’ve find some alternates more affordable and casual than the lovely Pauw jacket above, which would be more in tune with my lifestyle.

This year the Grammy’s were pretty subdued when it came to shoes, as most celebs opted for the sleek silhouette of the Christian Louboutin platform pump. I love the shoes, but I expected a bit more from the ladies. And though, I was slightly disappointed overall, I felt the Louboutin choice was perfect for some.

Jennifer Hudson, for instance, paired her construction embellished RM by Roland Mouret Trent dress with blue Christian Louboutin Declic pumps, which retail for $685.00. I thought the dress was the perfect pairing for the shoes. Not busy enough to distract you from the dress, but the perfect amount of color.

Angela Simmons paired her red Christian Louboutin Hidden Platform pumps with a white, layered hip mini dress. The shoe choice was perfect for this look, as the pumps gave the perfect pop of color.

LeToya Luckett’s pink mini with attached statement necklace was the perfect color combination for her aqua Christian Louboutin Rolando pumps, which retail for $1,195.00. It’s so unexpected, but still a breath a fresh air.

My disappointment was mostly with Nia Long and Marissa Miller.

Nia Long looked fabulous as usually, but some strappy platform pumps would have been perfect for her sequins mini dress, instead of the nude Christian Louboutin Hidden Platform pumps priced at $795.00.

Marisa Miller wore an all white mini dress with a black waist sash. The dress was truly adorable, but she paired it with nude pumps, which was a full wash out. The Christian Loubout Prive Pump retails for 895.00.

Alicia Keys performed at the World Music Awards 2008 at the Monte Carlo Sporting Club in Monte Carlo, Monaco. She wore the Catherine Malandrino Tuxedo Swing Dress and platform mary-jane pumps. The silk, halter dress features romantic ruffles down the chest, a cinched waist and a-line skirt. The dress previously retailed for $425.00, but is currently on sale for $297.50.

If you’re feeling this look, but the price is too much for your budget, go for the Black Vintage Ruffle Dress. The dress’ skirt has the same silhouette as Alicia’s, inlcuding the a-line skirt and a cinched waist. But instead of the backless halter, it has short sleeves, making it more demure.

It’s perfect for an after-office event or a nice dinner at your favorite restaurant. Pair it with a velvet blazer in a popping color, to shield you against the night air.
