Kristin Cavallari at the "When In Rome" premiere, Lala Vasquez at Trina's listening party and Lola Love at the 2010 BET Awards red carpet, all wearing Naven dresses.

Kristin Cavallari, Lala Vasquez and Lola Luv each wore the Naven Party Dress ($379.00).  The silk dress is backless with capsleeves, but it’s biggest feature is the elastic hem under a blouson skirt.


Kristin wore the pop pink-colored dress to the premiere of the movie “When In Rome.”  She paired with the with Christian Louboutin cork slingbacks, which feature a hot pink platform and heel. Kristin was bare of accessories and wore her hair pulled back.


Lala wore a yellow version to Trina’s listening party.  Her dress had additional round studs on the shoulders.  She paired her dress with Yves Saint Laurent Tribtoo pumps ($795.00). Her fresh faced makeup was framed with lazy curls.


Lola Luv wore the dress to the 2010 BET Awards Show and after party.  She paired her dress with Alexander McQueen canvas booties ($522.00).  She also accessorized the dress with a colorful earring/necklace combo.  She wore bold makeup and her hair in pinned curls.


I love the way the dress looks on Lola  – it’s more ballooned around the hem which made her waist look so tiny.  But for hair and makup, I have to give it to Lala. Which celeb deserves the crown for rocking the Naven party dress?

And the crown goes to: Tatyana or Taraji? Both ladies were seen wearing a Tracy Reese Fall 2008 dress.

The dress isn’t my favorite of Tracy’s Reese’s collections, though she is one of my favorite designers. The voluminous, mid-calf length dress has a faux wrap detail, with hidden pockets at each side and side ruching.

Taraji P. Henson was the first to wear the dress. She wore the dress to the 20th anniversary of the Palm Springs International Film Festival Awards Gala presented by Cartier held at the Palm Springs Convention Center a few weeks ago. She accessorized the dress with a simple chain necklace and green clutch with yellow tassel. She paired the dress with cutout fringe oxford, open-toe booties. She topped off the outfit with her signature hairstyle and always flawless makeup.

Tatyana Ali wore the dress to Hip-Hop Summit Action Network Inaugural Ball at Harman Center for the Arts in Washington, DC. She accessorized the dress with a charm necklace and peeptoe pumps with a jeweled detail on the vamp. Her blue accented eyes stand out again her natural makeup and sophisticated hairstyle.

The length and volume of the dress is usually for a more taller, statuesque women, which doesn’t apply to neither lady. Besides the silhouette, I have a problem with the wrinkly fabric of the dress. But, since I’m forced to choice, I’ll have to go with Tatyana. It may be the pose, but she looks more mature and demure. Would do you think gets the crown?

And the crown goes to: Beyonce Knowles or Olivia Wilde? They both wore a Reem Acra gown to two separate events.

Beyonce wore the dress to the 2008 Los 40 Principales Awards in Madrid, Spain. She wore the dress in black and paired it with spiral diamond earrings. She wore her Sasha Fierce bouffant with a touch of curls.

Olivia wore the dress in a lilac color to the 66th Annual Golden Globe Awards. Her dress, unlike Beyonce’s, had a crystal detail on the clasp of the belt. She wore her hair swept back with flower cluster earrings and the matching ring.

I’ve been neglecting my And The Crown Goes To… posts. I have tons in my style file, so lets get to it…

Rihanna and Elise Neal both have something in common; they both wore the strapless Betsy Johnson dress. I love this dress; it’s so young and hip. It’s a strapless mini with a sequined stripes and polka-dot design.

Elise Neal wore the dress to the BMI Awards. The veteran actress paired the dress with a cut-out handle silver clutch, a multi-strand necklace and Bebe Rio Leather Sandals.

Rihanna wore the dress during a performance on tour. She paired the dress with Jimmy Choo gladiator sandals and extra long limbs.

Rihanna is the fashion queen as it stands, but I have to go with Elise Neal. The dress really pops on her figure. What do you think?

And the crown goes to: Miley Cyrus or Monique Coleman?  Well it seems like we have a battle of the Disney starlets on our hands.  Who wore the pink-on-pink Alice & Olivia dress better.

Miley wore her dress to a visit to TRL.  It was worn with purple pumps and flowy hair.  Monique wore the dress to the Do Something/Teen Choice Awards pre-party. She rocked her dress with a boob and raspberry Christian Louboutin.  I love that both ladies choose to wear berry colored shoes with the dress.

While Miley did look cute, I’m giving the “W” to Monique.  She filled the dress a little better at the top and the fit was more appealing on her.

AND THE CROWN GOES TO: RIHANNA OR LALA? Both Rihanna and Lala Vasquez were seen wearing the Elizabeth and James Feather James Blazer on two different occasions.  Rihanna performed in her outfit at the CBS morning show.  Lala wore the blazer as a mini skirt to the Espy Awards, were she accompanied her husband, Carmello Anthony.

My Take
Rihanna wore the blazer with latex leggings, a black tank, Manolo Blahnik Pepe sandals and the Louis Vuitton Monogramouflage Speedy.  The blazer fit Rihanna perfectly.  Lala wore the blazer as a minidress, which I loved, with peeptoes.  The blazer was a bit ill-fitting though.

My Verdict

While, I love the style in which Lala wore the blazer, I’m giving Rihanna the W.  She looked much more sleek in the blazer.

Later that night, she wore another David Meister dress at the Modern Bride’s “25 Trendsetters of 2008″ awards dinner. She looked sleek and sexy in the sinle strapped satin bandage dress.
