SPEAKING OF OVER FRINGE

Author: MARLEAUX | Files under FASHION

I just did a And the Crown Goes To post featuring Nicole Fiscella and Abrey O’Day in a Foley + Corinna Ombre Fringe dress. Now Kourtney Kardashian is the next person to fall victim to the super fringe dress. Kourtney actually looks nice in the photo, but can you imagine the dress with movement. I’m thinking, drive-thru car wash…

I also wonder if the dress shed like pet hair. Can you imagine fringe pieces left behind when she vacated her seat. Or a fringe trail throughout the Las Vegas LAX club. Maybe she walked around with a lent brush clearing her trail. Either way, this dress is an example of why you didn’t see too much fringe within Lolo’s Cube.

Designers went overboard with the busy trend. Then the buyers followed suit and overloaded store racks and shelves with the exaggerated multi-layered fringe items. They all knew that over-fringe was going to be the next best thing. The end result was racks and racks of fringe on clearance racks in every store and boutique. Opps. With a recession going on, I’m sure the big wigs weren’t happy with the overstocked trend. I’m sure heads did roll… You live and you learn.

But the last thing I wanted to see within my blog was fringe. I let the overkill die on the Nordstrom’s clearance rack…

Another travesty of the over fringe trend is the Christian Louboutin Cutout “why aren’t they in the $2.99″ clearance rack booties” Fringe Bootie. And they have the nerve to charge almost $1,800 for these. My goodness… Why? I’m sure there is some lost soul with too much money on their hand, that’s looking for the perfect item to pull together they’re Strawman-chic look.

I wouldn’t dare, even if these red soles were in that $2.99 bin.
