The Sex and the City red carpet premiere finally went down at Radio City Music Hall in New York. And finally Jennifer Hudson made an appearance.

After the Sex and the City premiere in both London and Germany, I was starting to speculate about her absence. She was probably getting ready for the September release of her debut album Spotlight
instead. In any case, we’re glad she showed face.
Now that we’ve accounted for all the cast members, time for a little red carpet fashion review.
It seemed like metallics were the theme of the premiere, with most of the stars of the movies leading the way shimmering in bronze, gold or silver.
Sarah Jessica Parker wore a silver full length dress cinched at the waist with a gold sash, bringing together two metallic elements. I loved the top of her dress and the sash made her waist look super small. The fish scale that she’s dragging is a bit much though. Kristin Davis wore a golden ruffle bottom dress that fell just below the knee. I like that her waist was cinched as well, but it has the same silhouette as the dress she wore to the German SATC premiere, and the same element of ruffle bottom that was present in the Guy Laroche dress she wore to the London SATC premiere. If only she would have balanced out her “good” Charlotte look with
these Miu Miu t-straps.

Jennifer Hudson was blowing her signature kiss to the flashing lights wearing an open-front bronze dress with an exposed black bra. The way the fabric is wider in the shoulders, then narrows just above the belt makes her waist look small. I love the look. Jennifer Hudson represented for the sistas and the curvy divas on the red carpet.

I have mixed feelings about this Kim Catrall dress. At first glance, it looked nice, even with the “premature” straps that start at the waist. Then I got a side view dress and noticed that something was sticking out of her butt. The back view of the dress was even worse. *sigh* Looks like Vivienne Westwood had some extra material left on the back of the dress and decided to nip and tuck it and send Kim on her way.

Cythia Nixon, Giuliana DePandi and Mary J Blige all wore white. Nixon also wore the same silhouette as her two previous SATC premiere, but I don’t ask much of her. She looks nice.

Finally Giuliana DePandi wore her some heels. She not allowed to while standing next to Ryan Seacrest on E! News Live. Poor thing. She looked nice though. Mary’s dress was cute, but I hate her shoes. Just ugh!

Check out some other folks who walked the carpet (In order of fabness).
Molly Sims, Michelle Williams, Candace Bushnell, Lil Kim, Anna Wintour, Kid Sister, Fergie and Ashley Olsen.

And all the excitement of Sex and the City even put a smile on Christrian Siriano’s face.

Who knew it was possible.

I have to say that I didn’t like any of the dresses that the SATC girls wore, but here are my favorites:
Jennifer Hudson
Lil Kim: the look was simple, but it’s good to see that she’s trying something new.
Fergie
Ashley Olsen: I can’t believe she’s actually wearing something that doesn’t look like Halloween in May!
That Christian Siriano is so cute. So glad he won!

I think I’m the only one who could careless about the movie.
Anyhoo, Jennifer looked very nice. And I like her shoes.

I’m really loving Jennifer Hudson right about now. She can go from girl next door walking through the airport looking cute in some skretch pants to beautiful and well put together on the red carpet! And the hair is calling me too….
I need a cigarette!
