How Chic Is This…

Author: MARLEAUX | Files under FASHION

So I’ve been super busy lately. First my San Francisco trip, then I returned home sick as a dog. I decided to upgrade to a new apartment, so my computer was unavailable for a minute, but now all is running smoothly. But check out what’s so fab about my new apt:

Umm hmm, I got my very own accessories closet. I have 3 shelves of shoes, two shelves of bags, a misc shelf (covered by two Coach bags) that mostly contains my lil personal spa devices and a steamer and a drawer at the bottom for my belts and such.
Funny thing is, this is just a small portion of my shoes. Most are in the trunk of my car and others were still in the process of being moved. But I wanted to take a picture before my closet got too messy. And I’m not sure how this happened, but there are a few pairs that I’ve never worn, but somehow, someway, the mate is missing.
My homegirl just left and I almost had to search her. I showed her my lil closet and her eyes glazed over and she started trying on shoe after shoe, but none fit. Sorry Q, I’m a size 7.5 now, but I’m still watching you… Anywho, this is only one of two of my closets. Trust me, you all don’t want to see the other. It’s stuffed with clothes. And Sweetums has his own; if we had to share closets, we would have broken up years ago…
And speaking of shoe closets, check out my dream closet. Whenever I move into that dream house, I’m taking this place with me.
Footcandy is located just west of the celebrity shopping maven Brentwood Square. Since the place is located along my daily lunch walking route, I had to drop by.

Before you reach the door, you’re greeted with lovely Jimmy Choo bags on floating feather clouds. Well, that’s the most inviting window I’ve seen. Especially since that bag is calling my name, so I entered.

Once you’re in the store, you’re immediately greeted with tables of the hottest couture shoes. From the Manolo Blahnik Mary Janes and D’Orsays, to the latest Jimmy Choos, straight out of the ad that I featured a while back.

If those shoes don’t wow you then just the rest of the store surely should. The store includes floor to ceiling shelves that contain shoes in every crevice from designers such as Brian Atwood, Sergio Rossi, Giuseppe Zanotti, Loeffler Randal, Christian Louboutin and many more. The boots are casually leaned against the wall. All artwork is also leaned against the wall, since the walls are mirrored.

And of course, the mind behind Footcandy has a deep love for shoes, just as ya girl Lolo. Check out how Footcandy stepped onto the scene:

Recently when Napa Valley vintner Perry Butler counted his wife, Carolyn’s, pairs of shoes, he stopped at 500. Obviously, she had a passion for more than making fine wine. He thought, “Why not combine both passions, which involve high style and world travel?” While Perry is tasting wines for his label, Juslyn Vineyards, in London, Milan, New York and Paris, Carolyn could meet with designers on the Left Bank or its equivalent. And so, Footcandy was born. The elegant shoe shop now sits squarely in the heart of Napa Valley wine country, in the quaint village St. Helena. Despite its country locale, the tone is decidedly upscale and international.

I’m definitely a little jealous of Carolyn’s shoe closet, especially since we do have the same passion. I felt so at home in this store, but alas, I had to return to my work. Sadly, I put my shoe fantasies aside and headed back towards my building, leaving trail a drool throughout the store. *sigh* A girl can dream though.

And if anyone is just itching to get into shoe Footcandy and pay approx $800 for some shoes, I got a 10% off card.

Well, since you are buying, I’ll take the shoes in the last picture. I recently cleaned out my bedroom closet and made it just a shoe closet. (One day I’ll have to post pictures). I took all my clothes that I had in that closet and put them in an upstairs hallway closet. I had shelves and hangy things put in it. (yes, I wrote hangy things). Problem is when my closet in my room can’t fit no more shoes, I’m going to have to move.

Fresh and Fab- Thanks, I thinking about tossing all those and starting over.

dejanae- If only you stated your size, lmao.

Liz- SHOE SHOE SHOE SHOE *hands over a roll of of paper towels*

The True Urban Queen- Yep, it’s a big cycle. Whine there’s no more room, you gotta move to a bigger spot. Then once you get there, you gotta work to fill all the empty crevices and it just keeps going like that.

PCD- Best quote I’ve heard in a long time.

    Jen- Thanks for the love.

Karrie- That aint nothing yet. I need some red bottoms.
