Well, since I’m a lover of contemporary art, I would say that John Galliano is new my favorite artist. His latest exhibit also known as the Spring 2008 Christian Dior Haute Couture show had me mesmerized. I loved the silhouettes of the bold and colorful, though unwearable garments.
The detail shots are phenomenal. I loved the sculpted hair, exaggerated jewelry and blinged-out makeup. I’ve seen chicks leaving from the Mac counter looking similar to this. It’s bad for prom night, but the perfect compliment to Galliano’s creations.
The mid-arm and opera length gloves were a sophisticated touch. I’m glad they weren’t as decorated as the outfits; there is a thing as too much, even in a couture show…
And lastly, you all know that I looooove shoes. It can be a bit of an obsession at times. Well each model wore a pair of cut-out wedges, that would probably have them hovering over Shaq. Talk about potential ankle breakers…
Well, with inspiration from the Dior shoes, I’ve hunted for a few pair of wearable cut-out wedges, perfect for those who love the couture Dior shoes from a far. They may not be as eye-catching as the runway pair, but more wearable. These Kors Michael
Kor pairs even have cut-outs framed in metallic as the Diors.
