Shopping Update/Black Friday Anticipation

Author: MARLEAUX | Files under FASHION

Soooo, remember when I expressed my desire for this MICHAEL Michael Kors outfit…

Well, I went to Macy’s in search of the outfit. I found the pants, which were still at the full price of $89.50. Fine by me. This is my thing; I’ll go to a store, see an outfit, check that it fits, and then use the Internet on my phone, while still in the store, to see which price is cheaper. And purchase through the cheapest medium of course. This works, my latest car was $4,000 cheaper online, compared to the dealership’s price. Needless to say, I already had my Internet ad in hand. Of course I’ve drove off the dealership with the lesser price…

Back on subject, the shirt was absent, but I tried the pants and they were just awful. The cream colored pockets and seams were showing through the pants as if they were black. If only Michael made the pants with the same material as the pockets… Oh well, time to move on…

I’m also returning these black Inc. pants to Macy’s…

Last week, I wore black pants Monday through Thursday. I was in a lazy wardrobe slump. But it just proved that I have far too many pairs of black pants. I still have a few clean pairs hanging in the closet. So I will return them and add that value to my other leftover Macy’s gift card balance.

So Black Friday is almost upon us. Oh yeah, and Thanksgiving too.

Whew it came so quickly. It wasn’t until we received our “go home early on Wednesday” email today from HR that I knew this was Thanksgiving week. Well, needless to say, I’m a little more chipper than most, because it’s such a surprise. Other folks have been marking days in their calendar, counting down, but the 4-day weekend just popped up in front of me without notice, like a silent jack-in-the box thrust upon me as I turn a corner. I’m ecstatic…
Last year we left the house at 8 am and was still able to hit 5 Macy’s before noon, which is the time when most of the sales end. There were these 3 pairs of pants and I just had to have these pants. At every Macy’s I found something that I wanted, but my size was no where in sight, so on to the next Macy’s we went. At the end of the day, I was a happy Marleaux.
Well this year, I plan to hit 4, no 5 Macy’s, 3 Nordstrom and 2 Bloomingdale’s. Ambitious? Well maybe… But if I’m satisfied earlier on, I can quit before I credit cards become demagnitized. I plan to hit most of the big department stores as they have the biggest Black Friday sales, and lightly peruse the smaller stores in each mall.
I’ll start off at the Macy’s and Norstrom in the South Bay Galleria. I love that Nordstrom’s Point of View department. POV is the ideal department for any working girl. There you can find lines like MICHAEL Michale Kors, DKNY, Caslon, Semantiks, Sweet Pea, Calvin Klein Jeans and Nine West apparel.

Next I’ll hit Macy’s at the Santa Monica mall; Macy’s and Nordstrom at the West Side Pavilion; Macy’s and Bloomingdales at the Century City mall; Nordstrom at the Grove; then lastly Macy’s and Bloomingdales at the Beverly Center; where we’ll probably end our excursion at California Pizza Kitchen. The perfect place for after shopping food and after Thanksgiving pizza.

Happy Thanksgiving… And Happy Black Friday.

Oh yeah girl, I am ready for the sales. And yes, I wish I had today off too. My boss is walking around insinuating that our department won’t be leaving early. But I already have my Dr’s appoitment in place. Afterwards, I’m going to scope out the stores to see what will be avail on Friday. I call that pre-shopping. Whew, I’m a mess.

You have a good one also.
