So now that Halloween is over, we can talk about some gift giving. Particularly, gift giving to me…
Usually around this time, I start to bombard my boyfriends email inbox. In the emails I’m asking his opinion on either a new cell phone, laptop or mp3 player. We’ve been together for over 5 years, and he knows that this is my way of giving him a little heads-up of what I want for Christmas. I could tell him directly, but I want him to put forth a little bit of effort. It’s either this or he gives me cash, which isn’t Christmasy, because I’ll just short myself a gift and pay a bill. And this actually works perfectly. One Christmas I wanted an iRiver. I continued to email him asking about color choices and informing him of the gadget’s options, and for Christmas, I actually got a snazzy iPod. I couldn’t have been happier. It was actually a step up from what I wanted. It held approx 10,000 more songs
Well, that was years ago, and I’ve moved from the more “techy” stage in my life, to the more feminine. My default gift is now a handbag. My family knows that if you can’t get me a bag, then at least get me a gift card, from a bag worthy store.
My mother is actually flabbergasted by the prices I’ve spent on some of my handbags. I won’t go as far as to say that she embarrasses me while handbag shopping, but asking a sales associate at Nordstrom’s if the Jimmy Choo handbag I wanted to purchase would clean the dishes every night. The comment turned my cheeks just a little red, but the sales associate got a big kick out of the comment. -So Ma, after the first set of handbags, just click off the page. And to answer the questions you always asks, none of these handbags will actually work off their price in house work…. And no, I will not sleep with any of them next to my pillow at night, and they will not comfort me in return to spending my hard earned cash that I could be saving for a house… *rolling eyes*
Soooo, the following handbags are on my wish list, Christmas and beyond. If you want to take it upon yourself and celebrate I Love Marleaux day too, send me a bag.
